We are proud to establish our new international focus with a collaboration with SHORT RIGA, at Riga International Film Festival, where we present five high quality student films from the Baltic region.

[php snippet=21]The program is curated by Anna Veilande Kustikova from SHORT RIGA. She will present the films, and hold a Q&A with present film makers from the films.

She writes:

This selection intends to draw a picture of the contemporary Baltic film student’s perception. The themes they’re drawn to range from reflecting upon oneself, the love of nature to witty humor and experimentation with the very fabric of filmmaking.

The Riga IFF curators of short format cinema focus on finding the upcoming talent who stand out – it can be an amazingly well built storyline, sleek editing, innovative use of music or simply an astonishing directional voice in the making. The mission statement of SHORT RIGA since the program’s incarnation in 2015 has been to help young talent surface, shine and grow.

The screening will be held Thursday March 23, at 16:30. Free admission.
