    Ellen Tejle and A-list

Ellen Tejle is most known for making the “Bechdel-test” a common phrase in the film industry and among film buffs. She is behind the A-listing of films passing the test.

Tejle is coming to Lillehammer to talk about gender representation in film, and how the Bechdel test can be used to show structurual unbalance in society.

    Duhok International Film Festival

We are happy for our collaboration with Duhok IFF in Irak. The festival is considered the most important film festival in the Middle East, and is located close to the large refugee camps in the Kurdish city Duhok.

We are working with several projects that will bring cultural exchange and film enthusiasm accross borders.

Oppression, sexuality, tabues, gender equality, and religion have always played as main subjects for Kurdish filmmakers. Therefore, the Duhok International Film Festival’s programs had dealt with these relevant topics. At the same time, the organizers of Duhok IFF, continuously suffered from issues alike on holding an international, uncensored film festival in a very conservative community and area that sees cinema itself a forbidden element in some of the neighboring regions. Apart from backing films and filmmakers who had conferred the before-mentioned topics in their films and screen it. Therefore, the “Amandus Utterance” program is crucial for us to utter the importance of these issues in the world generally and the Middle East, especially.

Shamal Sabri, Artistic Director Duhok IFF

More information about the collaboration will be announced soon.
