It has been a true pleasure to review so many wonderful submissions, and many tough decisions have been made along the way. We are now left with 38 nominated films – all engaging, inspiring, and remarkable works!
Some of the films were produced at large, well-established educational institutions, others at smaller schools spread across the Nordic region. In addition, several films were made independently, outside of formal institutions. This mix provides great variety in both style and subject matter. It is inspiring to see how films with different budgets can reach the very top and tell powerful stories.
Among the nominated films, fiction is often the most dominant category – and that is also the case this year. At the same time, we received many impressive documentaries and animated works. The final program therefore consists of six animated films, ten documentaries, and twenty-two fiction films. With such a wide range of themes, genres, and cinematic expressions, audiences can truly look forward to exploring Blikkfang’s vibrant film universe!
We warmly welcome you to this year’s most delightful film festival, Amandus Blikkfang, taking place September 25–27 at Kulturhuset Banken in Lillehammer. We hope to see you there – step into our film universe and enjoy outstanding films, inspiring conversations, and days filled with everything about FILM!
